Friends of Mangarakau Swamp
The objects of the Friends of Mangarakau Swamp Inc. Society, a locally based management group are to:
- Promote and assist the restoration and protection of the swamp in its natural state:
- Foster and assist public understanding, enjoyment, and support for the swamp:
- Provide practical management assistance, and responsibility; enlist professional expertise, and provide practical work assistance.
- Undertake such schemes and projects as the members decide.
The Native Forest Restoration Trust owns the 15 bed Lodge and the Visitor Centre and museum.
The Lodge is for the use of members of Friends of Mangarakau Swamp.
The Visitor Centre houses information and displays about the swamp, and photographs and artifacts depicting its past.
The Friends of Mangarakau Swamp Inc. is a registered charitable entity in terms of the Charities Act 2005. Registration No. CC35911.
